Gresik, July 28, 2025 – PT Citra Nusantara Gemilang Tbk (CGAS), a national integrated energy company, through its subsidiary PT Citra Nusantara Energi, officially inaugurated its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Station in Gresik, East Java. Held on Monday, July 28, 2025, the event marks CGAS’s continued commitment to expanding clean energy distribution and supporting industrial and economic development in the eastern region of Java.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, who expressed her appreciation for CGAS’s contribution to building clean energy infrastructure. “We appreciate CGAS’s investment as it supports industrial growth and promotes the use of clean energy in East Java. This facility will be an important factor in enhancing the competitiveness of local industries and creating new economic opportunities for surrounding communities,” said Khofifah in her speech.
High Capacity, Real Impact
The Gresik CNG Station has a processing capacity of 2.2 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), equivalent to 20 million cubic meters per year. CGAS is targeting a potential annual revenue of up to IDR 150 billion from this facility. In addition to supporting industrial energy needs, the station is expected to create new job opportunities and stimulate the local economy through the involvement of local SMEs in supporting services such as transportation and logistics.
Expanding the Clean Energy Portfolio
President Director of PT Citra Nusantara Gemilang Tbk, Andika Purwonugroho, emphasized that the development of the Gresik CNG Station is part of CGAS’s strategic expansion to strengthen its clean energy portfolio. “CGAS is committed to becoming a reliable and sustainable energy provider. The presence of this facility not only meets the growing industrial energy demand but also supports the government’s program to accelerate clean energy transition in Indonesia,” he stated.
He added that the facility will provide stable and efficient energy supply to industries in East Java, boosting their productivity and competitiveness. At the same time, CGAS is reinforcing its strategic collaboration with Petrogas Jatim Utama, the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) of East Java Province, to jointly build natural gas infrastructure in the region.
Sustainable Expansion Strategy
CGAS’s expansion doesn’t stop in Gresik. In the coming months, the company plans to inaugurate two more CNG stations in Majalengka and Grobogan, along with the groundbreaking of its LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project in Karawang, West Java. These initiatives mark a new phase in CGAS’s efforts to provide broader, cleaner, and more modern energy solutions across Indonesia.
With the national gas consumption projected to grow 4–5% annually over the next five years—driven by industrial and transportation demand—CGAS is optimistic that the Gresik CNG Station will be a key growth driver for the Group, expanding gas distribution coverage to Gresik, Surabaya, and surrounding areas, while generating positive economic impact for local communities and businesses.
